Music Skills Class
Reading, Singing, and Playing
Reading Music Can you figure out what this song is? If you can't, you will learn to read, sing, and play this song and many others in Music Skills Class. If you can read the notes above, congratulations. Come to class and increase your skills in reading, writing, singing in parts, and learn songs in various languages--English, Spanish, and French--that we will be singing in worship services beginning in September. Singing Music
Singing is good for your health and your spirit. It stimulates your breathing, and is very beneficial in exercising generally ignored muscles, especially your diaphragm and upper body. Singing beautiful music correctly brings a strong sense of pride and satisfaction.
Playing Music
If you have ever wanted to play an instrument, and for whatever reason just couldn't find the necessary time and energy to do the practicing, or if you purchased or were given an instrument and it is gathering dust in your closet, bring it to Music Skills Class and get started. Perhaps you will be able to play in church. Any musical skill you learn will brighten your life, and if you wish to share it, will enrich the worship of the church community. Also, all are welcome to come and join the handbell choir or play a rhythm instrument. (Playing and instrument is beneficial exercise for little-used muscles in your hand and arm.)
Scheduling
Music Skills Classes will begin on Thursday June 17 at 7:30 p.m. and continue, meeting every Thursday, through July 29. Anyone who enjoys music is welcome. You can sign up for Music Skills Classes in the office or by sending an email to rbaandr@yahoo.com. During the summer all classes are free.
